Literacy  - I Love My Home - Sebastian Braun 

Communication, Language and Literacy - Through our stories, we are learning new language related to habitats, and developing our sentence building! We are focusing on using a programme called ‘Clicker’ to be able to aid our writing skills and help to build sentences. We have been answering comprehension questions about the story to build our understanding.

Maths -   We are learning and developing our skills linked to addition and subtraction, position and direction. We are particularly learning about addition and subtraction within 20.  We have been looking at number bonds to 10 and filling in the missing numbers of number bonds.

Personal, Social, and Emotional Development (PSED) - 

We are learning about different cultures. We have engaged with experiences from different cultures and communities of those with our class. We have also recalled similarities and differences we have with peers from different cultures.

Understanding the world (Science) We are learning about living things and their habitats. We have worked on comparing differences between things that are living, nonliving and that have never been alive. We have also learnt about food chains and described how animals obtain their food.

Understanding the world (Geography)  - Next half term in Understanding the World, we are learning about Habitats around the world and how the different weather patterns impact on the habitats and the animals.

Understanding the World (RE) - We are learning about how different people express their spirituality. We have learnt about how Muslims use calligraphy and patterns to express their beliefs. We have also explored how christian use geometric shapes to express their spirituality.

Expressive Arts and Design (drama) -  Our EAD focus for the first half term is Drama. We are developing our drama skills by creating a permanence using the music of the ‘James and the Giant Peach.’ We have been dressing up as different characters and using props to act out certain parts of the story and using facial expressions. 

Expressive Arts and Design (Art) - Next half term our focus in EAD will be Art. We will be designing a printed picture based on nature within Bradford. We will use a range of tools to paint and print with to design the picture.

Physical Development (PE) We are learning new skills linked to ballroom dancing and bhangra dancing!
