Literacy in Spring 1: ‘Welcome Home Bear’ 

In our Communication, Language and Literacy lessons, Class 3 has been learning to engage in stimuli relating to our stories as well as exploring each animal from the story and its habitat.

Literacy in Spring 2: ‘I Love My Home’ 

Next term, our story will be ‘I love my Home’. This story is all about different animals and the habitats which they live in, where Class 3 will continue to explore each animal in the book and its habitat.

Spring 1

In our Maths lessons, Class 3 have been learning about numbers through a variety of activities. We have been learning numbers to 5 through sensory materials and exploration and counting groups of objects or pictures. In our Maths: Shape, Space & Measure lessons, we have been learning about positional language where we have joined in with fun activities to show our understanding of the words.

Spring 2

Next term, in number sessions Class 3 will continue learning about numbers and engaging in fun activities whilst counting quantities. In shape, space and measure we will move into following instructions in relation to positional language.

Spring 1

Personal, Social, and Emotional Development (PSED) -

In our PSED lessons, Class 3 has used the story  ‘A World For Me and You’ to learn about respecting the differences between people, their cultures and languages. 

Spring 2

Personal, Social, and Emotional Development (PSED) 

In PSED, Class 3 will continue learning about different cultures, respecting differences between people, and different languages.

Spring 1

Understanding the world (RE) - 

In our RE lessons, Class 3 has been learning about how different people express their spirituality. We are currently learning about Islamic calligraphy and how Islamic geometric shapes and items found in nature are used to express belief.

Spring 2

Understanding the world (RE) - 

Next term, we will be learning about Christianity and beginning to understand the different geometric shapes which are used in Christian artwork.

Spring 1

Understanding the World (Science) 

In our Science lessons, we have been learning about living things and their habitats. Class 3 has been exploring different habitats of a different minibeast per week and how we can make spaces appropriate for each minibeast.

Spring 2

Understanding the World (Geography)

Next term, our Understanding the World lesson will be Geography where Class 3 will be learning about animal habitats and being able to identify where animals need to live in order to survive.

Expressive Arts and Design (Drama) 

Currently in our Drama lessons, we have been dressing up and performing ‘James and the Giant Peach’. Class 3 have enjoyed making props for the story and pretending to be James finding the peach in the garden. 

Spring 2 Expressive Arts and Design (Art) 

Next term, we are learning about print making using natural resources. Class 3 will be using a range of natural resources to create their own artwork and will be trying to create their own picture based on nature within Bradford.

Physical Development (PE) - 

In our Physical Development lessons, this half term we have been learning about Ballroom dancing where we have been showing off our best Waltz and Foxtrot dance moves. We have enjoyed stepping to the beat with a partner and swirling fabric to the music.

Spring 2 Physical Development (PE) - 

Next term, we will be learning about Bhangra dancing where we will be showing our best moves in this specific style.
