To launch our spectacular new curriculum pathway names at Co-op Academy Delius our pupils took part in our first Stunning Start of the year.  The Rockets, Galaxies, Comets and Astronaut pathways experienced a range of thrilling activities throughout the day, we were all over the moon! 

We were visited by an amazing space planetarium called The Wonder Dome. Pupils entered the large silver dome and were immersed in darkness to experience the universe through space visuals and animation. It was even better when you laid down to watch!

Our pupils bounced like astronauts on the moon whilst on the exciting Disco Dome. The sensory lights and darkness made the bouncy castle experience even more space like for us.

The interactive immersive suite was transformed into the moon landing, where pupils could interact with planets, astronauts and rockets on the walls through touch. The experience was made even more real through big inflatables planets and metallic space blankets.

The sensory room became a peaceful galaxy where pupils could engage with stars and planets in a stimulating environment.

The day ended in a whole school Rocket’s Parade, where a band of musicians entertained us with wonderful space songs. Each class paraded their amazing rocket creations around the bus compound, as their friends cheered and clapped for them.

It is fair to say we started our year together with a BIG BANG.
